Central Indexing of jointly used Outlook data within the company – this is the new Lookeen Shared Index. The advantages: It reduces the degree of capacity utilisation and traffic on exchange-servers and in networks, preserves the user’s processor- and storage resources and last but not least it saves precious working time.
Do you have a lot of Outlook-archives, which are not opened in Outlook? With the help of the Shared Index you will have all information under control.

The Shared Index performs the following:
- Central Indexing saves Exchange-Server Traffic
- External PST archives can be browsed easier.

Normally each user has a personal index for his data. However, it can really be very useful to not only have a personal index but also to search additionally in several external Lookeen-Indexes. Assuming that there exist a lot of public documents in the network of a company or a lot of big public files, which are to be browsed by many users, on an exchange-server, normally each user would have to bear the responsibility to index these data himself.

However, this increases the network traffic in an undesired way and at the same time it burdens the user’s computer and costs precious working time.

By using the Shared Index you generate a central index and you make this index available for all desired users. This can be done in a very comfortable way by delivering the index path. Now the individual users are able to browse through personal indexes and external indexes at the same time.

You have a lot of Outlook-archives in the form of PST-files, but you do not want to always use all of them in your current profile? With the help of the Shared Index you will have all information under control. For this you only have to generate an external index for your PST-archives.

The waiting is over: Lookeen 2.0 will be released at March 11th 2009. The update for customers who had already bought Lookeen 1.x licenses is for free. New customers: Although there are amazing new features in Lookeen 2.0 – the price will stay the same!

30.01.2009 | Upcoming Version 2.0 will search in closed archives

Lookeen 2.0 provides the best solution for dealing with different
PST-files: Search as many PST files (e.g. archives) as you want and have access to the content, although the files are not concurrently opened in Outlook.

You could save the PST files at any folder in your network - therefore you do not have to waste central memory or hard disk space.

Only your main PST has to be opened which accelerates a lot the program start as well as the work with Outlook.

As Axonic Informationssysteme GmbH has announced yesterday, the version 2.0 will be presumably released at the beginning of march 2009.

As Axonic Informationssysteme GmbH has announced yesterday, the at beginning of 2009 available Lookeen version 2.0 will have a new helpful feature: The Extended Search Fields.

In order to make complex searches in Outlook easy, you can use the extended search fields in the Lookeen search result window. Now you’re able to restrict your search quickly and easily without using long self-made search queries.

With the help of this extended search fields you’re able to search e.g. directly just in your Outlook contacts for a person. Or restrict your search to mails having only PDF attachments! Are you searching for mails in a specific span of time – with Lookeen 2.0 no problem!

Certainly the fields can be combined – for example: search for a search term within a range of date in an attachment of a special kind of file type (e.g. doc) received from a wished sender!
Complex search queries will just take a few seconds – and the handling will stay intuitively, too!

For many companies it’s an essential issue to restrict user access in their network. But many search tools or desktop search engines are providing possibilities to avoid these gates: The new search tool Lookeen does not!

Axonic delivers with the new version 1.3 an important feature: The Lookeen Group Policies. With that you are able to control to give employees access to sensible or confidential Outlook items, only if they are allowed to. Your IT department or an administrator could easily manage which employee is allowed to e.g. search and find with Lookeen on your Exchange Server, public folder or on your network and who’s not. Today the open Beta test of Lookeen has started. Lookeen is a new search tool for Outlook 2003 and 2007. The search tool can be downloaded under www.lookeen.com.

With Lookeen the user will 'find' instead of 'search', manage and organize large amounts of Outlook® information efficiently, and free up a lot of precious time for other things. Finally a empty inbox! Lookeen uses a simple interface integrated in Outlook. It searches with lightning speed in attachments, too (e.g. Powerpoint®, Word® or PDF-Files).
Good news for Outlook users having several PST files (personal folder files) or additional archives or exchange stores: Lookeen search includes every store of the user's Outlook account. Furthermore the user can see correspondence with people and groups on a single click! Or find every information in your calendar, contacts or fure sure in your inbox!

The sales version will be released this year, so Axonic, the manufacturer of Lookeen. We recommend to do a backup of your Outlook data during the beta phase. Further details concerning price structures are not announced yet.
